Development for Effective Leadership

Operational Overview

The aim of this Level 4 course is to develop capable and credible leaders who can confidently apply leadership and management principles and theories in a range of operational contexts.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the module, learners will be able to:

1. Evaluate a range of leadership theories and appropriately apply them to their organisational context.

2. Assess the relationship between organisational culture and leadership behaviours and how they impact on performance outcomes.

3. Use reflective models and self awareness tools to develop a clear and credible professional identity.

4. Demonstrate increased leadership confidence through communication, decision‑making and behavioural evidence.

Assessment

Throughout the course, learners should keep a portfolio of evidence of learning.

The assessment will consist of a 45 minute online professional discussion in which learners will be asked questions about their leadership efficacy, using their portfolio to evidence their answers.
